| Newpage 300 Pratt Street Luke, MD Installlation start date; 7/15/2006 Completion date; 8/20/2006 This large 135,000 square foot roof system exhibited extensive blistering of the slag built up roof system over its entire surface area. While not experiencing large leak issues, NewPage knew it was only a matter of time before the roof system presented problems for its paper storage warehouse. So a preventaive maintenance decision was made to replace the 25 year system and avoid potential product losses in the foreseeable future. Since the roof system hadn't really experiencing water infiltration issues, the expense of tearing off the roof system was avoided by simply installing one layer of Firestone's 1" polyisocyanurate roof insulation directly over the existing slag built up roof system. A mechanically attached white TPO roof system was installed to help reflect heat off the roof and reduce the amount of heat transmitted into an unairconditioned facility. New scuppers were added in the back of the facility to concentrate the overflow of water off the building in 15 designated areas, rather allowing the water to simply run down the side of the building. A 15 year manufacturer's warranty was issued, along with ART's 15 year Service Contract. | |
